USDF Announces New Youth/Young Adult Dressage Sport Horse Breeders Seminar

Lexington, KY (May 25, 2017) – The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) is pleased to announce that the first USDF Youth/Young Adult Dressage Sport Horse Breeders Seminar will take place July 1-2, 2017, at DG Bar Ranch in Hanford, CA. This two-day seminar provides an opportunity for youth and young adults, ages 14-27, to be introduced to sport horse breeding. Participants will experience sessions specific to mare and stallion management, the handling of foals and young horses, as well as training strategies. Also discussed, will be the ideal conformation and movement of the dressage sport horse, with participants having the opportunity to evaluate the gaits of young horses under saddle.

Instructors for this seminar will be Melissa Creswick and Willy Arts, with Kevin Reinig incorporating a dressage sport horse handler component. This component will provide attendees with techniques and tips for the handling of dressage sport horse prospects, and breeding stock horses, in the competition arena.
